Frequently Asked Questions
About EDGE
What is EDGE? EDGE is an operations platform for in-home care agencies. It covers recruiting, onboarding, documents and e-signature, employee records, and credential tracking, in one place, with one record per employee from first application onward.
Who is it for? Agencies that have to prove, on demand, that the people delivering care were qualified to deliver it. If your compliance burden is a spreadsheet and a filing cabinet, EDGE is aimed at you.
How is it different from a general HR system? General HR tools store the credential. EDGE decides what the credential means. It compares each person's role against the credentials your agency requires and shows you whether they are cleared to work. That comparison is the product.
Eligibility and the hire gate
Does EDGE decide who can be hired? No, and this matters. EDGE reports what is on file and holds activation until a person with authority signs off. You make the hiring decision. A record showing someone as cleared is a statement about your records, not a certification that the person is qualified and not a legal opinion.
What stops someone being activated on a credential nobody checked? A credential counts toward the gate only when a person has recorded that they verified it against the issuing authority. An upload someone made about themselves sits as pending verification and never clears itself. There is no path where self-reported paperwork silently becomes a verified credential.
What happens if someone's role is not in our requirements list? EDGE holds them rather than clearing them. If an agency has requirements configured and a hire's role matches none of them, the safe answer is to stop, not to assume there is nothing to check.
Does EDGE track expiring credentials? Yes. Your compliance view groups every dated credential into expired, expiring within the next 30 days, and current, with a count on each, so renewals are something you plan rather than discover.
To be precise about what that is: EDGE shows you this, it does not email your staff on its own. Renewal reminders go out when one of your administrators sends them.
Data, security, and privacy
Where is our data stored? On servers in the United States. We do not transfer personal information outside the United States.
Is it encrypted? In transit, everything is TLS and the site is HTTPS only. At rest, sensitive fields and uploaded credential documents are encrypted with AES-256-GCM, with keys held separately from the database. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, so nobody here can read yours.
Who can see our records? Access is role-based and scoped to your organization. One agency cannot see another agency's records. Our own staff access is limited to the people who operate and support the service.
Do you use our data to train AI? No. We do not use customer workforce data to develop or train models, and we do not sell personal information or share it for advertising.
EDGE has exactly one AI feature: a writer that drafts a job description from the job details you type in. It receives the job title, department, location, employment type, and requirements. It does not receive employee or candidate records. If you never use it, nothing of yours reaches it.
Do you track us? Any analytics or advertising cookies? No. EDGE uses strictly necessary cookies only, to keep you signed in and to protect forms. There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, and no third-party trackers on the website or in the application.
Can we get our data out? Yes. Ask us and we will provide a copy of your organization's data. If your agreement ends, make the request within 30 days of termination.
Who else touches our data? A short list, published in full in our Privacy Policy: our hosting provider, our transactional email provider, Stripe for billing, and the AI provider behind the job-description writer, which receives no personal information. Nobody else, unless you tell us to or the law requires it.
HIPAA and regulatory questions
Is EDGE HIPAA compliant? Will you sign a BAA? EDGE holds employment records, not patient records. It has no patient charts, no visit or diagnosis records, and no connection to any EHR. Employment records, including health-related items an employee submits for employment such as a TB test or an immunization record, sit outside the HIPAA Privacy Rule. So we are not acting as a HIPAA business associate and we do not offer a business associate agreement.
We treat that information as sensitive regardless, and state law duties around identifiers such as Social Security numbers apply either way.
Can we store patient information in EDGE? No. It is not built for it and our terms prohibit it. Keep patient information in your clinical system.
Does EDGE tell us what our regulations require? It gives you a configurable starting point for credential requirements by role. You confirm what applies to your agency. We do not provide legal advice, and responsibility for meeting your regulators' and accreditors' requirements stays with you.
Does EDGE connect to our EHR? Not today. There is no HL7, FHIR, or EHR integration. Records are entered by your team or by the candidate through an onboarding link.
Getting started and commercial
What does it cost? Core is $12 per employee per month with a $79 monthly minimum. Recruiting adds $2.60 per employee per month with a $39 monthly minimum. If your per-employee total is below the minimum, you pay the minimum; once your team grows beyond it, you simply pay the per-employee rate.
How do we get set up? We configure your agency's space with your roles and credential requirements before you start, so you are not typing your compliance matrix into an empty system on day one.
Do you offer payroll? Not yet. Payroll and benefits are coming in 2027. They are not part of the platform today.
Can we bring our existing candidates across from Indeed? Yes. Export your candidates from Indeed and EDGE's import wizard walks you through mapping your job titles onto your jobs and your Indeed statuses onto your pipeline stages, so you migrate the hiring you have in flight rather than starting over.
